Rajasthan dams to undergo rehabilitation, modernize and sustainable

In a first, the state water resources department is set to rehabilitate and increase the holding capacity of 189 large dams, including some of the country’s oldest functional dams — Udaisagar (1585 CE), Rajsamand (1671 CE), Jaisamand (1730 CE) and Swaroop Sagar (1795 CE). The estimated cost of the ‘Dam Rehabilitation and Improvement Project (DRIP) is Rs 965.65 crore, which is supported by the World Bank. The project will start from April 1, 2020.
