Bhanwarlal Meghwal blames mobile phones, TV for rapes

Rajasthan’s social justice and empowerment minister Bhanwarlal Meghwal has blamed televisions and mobile phones for the heinous sexual assaults taking place in the state and country. He also claimed some countries castrate sexual assaulters, and suggested it was the only way to deter rapists. Early this week, energy minister BD Kalla had blamed the internet for the rapes. “When there were no televisions and mobile phones, these kinds of crimes did not take place. I think that people after watching television emulate these acts,” Meghwal said, talking to reporters at PCC HQs here.
